Hey neighbors, It’s Mother’s Day weekend and north Seattle is leaning all the way in. The LFP Farmers Market opens for the season on Sunday, Kruckeberg’s plant sale runs Friday through Sunday, Edmonds Spring Fest fills Frances Anderson with vendors and food trucks, and Salvation Artists is still hosting its drop-in Mother’s Day plant craft. Plenty to choose from whether you’re shopping for a gift, taking the kids out, or wandering a garden with coffee. A quick note: we finally made it down to downtown Edmonds last weekend and the downtown walk (bookshop, ice cream, waterfront) made for a really lovely afternoon. We popped into Edmonds Bookshop, where my kid bought a book from Wings of Fire shelf. Then we wandered over to East West Books & Gifts, which has an incredible spiritual books collections. I lost track of time in there. From there we took a long stroll in the sun and grabbed ice cream on the way back. Since it was our first time doing the Edmonds book run, we hadn’t realized just how big Independent Bookstore Day is around here. We overheard a few conversations from folks chasing stamps at all 33 participating bookstores in the Seattle area!!! Such a wonderful way to show up for these indie bookshops. ✨ Editor’s PickLFP Farmers Market: Opening Day & Mother’s Day · Sun May 10 · 10am–2pm · 17171 Bothell Way NE, in front of LFP City Hall · All ages The Sunday market is back.
